Firmware update for the Premier

Hi,

I see there’s a new update for the Premier, but I’m not finding a way to download the file. When I click on the link the file starts playing on the computer . . . I need to have the file in my music library to play it through the DAC.

thanks, Larry

You must have a setting on your browser that “autoplays” any media items that you click on. I just tested the link, dowloaded the file without any issue.

Either find the setting in your browser’s setting menu, or download and use a different browser app, or download the file on a different computer, and move it to the one that plays your DAC.

I have a separate folder, in my Music folder on my Roon server, where I keep the most recent firmware files (Premier DAC and Premier Digital Director)

Thanks Michael, I appreciate the info. I’ll give it a try. I’ve not had this issue when downloading previous updates, but the browser has had updates . . .

PS, how do you like your digital director?

I found a huge improvement on all of the inputs. I currently use the Renderer V2 (with NUC Roon server), TOSLink for audio from my TV, USB from my main computer, and Coax from a Sonos unit (upgraded by W4S). My network already included a fiber connection to the UpTone Audio etherRegen, which feeds the Renderer unit from the clean side.

Even with that setup, the Digital Director improved the clarity and noise floor. I have not played with any of the filter stuff at this point. If you can swing it, its very worthwhile.

You should also be able to right click on the link and there should be a “save link as” or “save to downloads” options.

That’s great to hear. One of these days I’m hoping that I’ll be able to get a digital director. In the interim, I’ve been upgrading my ethernet switches (modded Cisco Meraki) and adding linear power supplies to the switches, router, streamer (Sonore Sonictransporter i7) and renderer (Sonore Opticalrendu delux) which has helped clean things up a bit.

Thanks Kevin, I was able to download the file on my phone and email it to myself - the rest of the upgrade was, as usual, easy peasy.

Best, Larry
