Technical Description of Director 'filter' capability

Apart from the existing description of the Director on your website, can I request an insight into the ‘filter’ aspect of the incoming (to Director) bitstream, prior to hitting the DAC? What is data flow/process applied to this incoming stream?
Is the displayed bit rate/frequency on the DAC the actual stream output to the DAC OR is it the incoming ‘pre-filtered’ stream (to the director)? I understand the director output (when in filter mode) is non bit perfect.

Hope you can clarify for me?

The displayed sample rate and bit depth is the incoming data stream. The Digital Director replaces the normal digital filtering done in the DAC with a much more advanced and higher performance digital filter. It’s not a upsampling process or a room correction/EQ process. The output of the Digital Director is the data stream needed for the Prime or Hybrid DAC modules. To be clear, it’s not “extra” digital filtering, but rather a much better version of the digital filtering we normally do. We don’t disclose the exact digital filtering technology we’ve developed. It’s not your standard digital filter you will find online.
It should be noted, the advanced digital filtering in the Digital Director can also be turned off in the menu. When turned off, the output of the Digital Director is bit-perfect to the incoming data stream. We only recommend doing this when doing a firmware update of the DAC.
