Looks amazing but not a viable option for those of us with one or more analog sources. I will stick with my Reference DAC (with two XLR analog inputs) and Reference Digital Director until I can make the jump to a Cascade DAC. That is still a more cost effective pathway than the upgrade to Palisade and a separate preamp like the Boulder 1110 or similar. Although the extra gain of a separate preamp wouldn’t be wasted for my vinyl playback.

I already use a separate Pre-Amp for analog input. When the dust settles from Vienna, I’d be interested in hearing the trade-up options for Premier+DD to the Palisade. Decide if I can lobby for this next year.

ok I have to ask, lower cost than the Cascade but rougly how much lower?
$60k USD is my understanding.

Well done! This should be an amazing upgrade for digital only users & those with a good preamp already. I like the fact that the same digital director is entirely preserved.

It will vary based on import, but the US price is $59,500.
That is a significant delta but the smaller footprint is likely just as big a motivation for the Palisade.
Now the question of the v3 renderer becomes an even bigger factor as it will allow pure digital system to be streamlined and simplified

I think it would have to be Olympus 
and I second the renderer v3… with AirPlay of course…
BUT, I’d be thrilled if you stuffed a server into that Cascade form factor case

Heh, if only… The Analog inputs are probably 3% of the overall cost of the Sentinel… The 32 DAC modules is where most of the cost lies. And the chassis

I have to admit I wasn’t thinking about the cost…

Nope, the analog input for the Sentinel is unique to the Sentinel.
