I have a very similar system with a Feikert Trio Tt, Hana Umami Red cartridge, Kuzma 4poin9 arm, MSB Reference dac used as my pre, Prima Luna EVO 100 phono stage and two PS Audio BHK600 mono amps into Wilson Sasha V speakers.
I’m deciding whether to get the Reference DD or just step up to the Cascade maybe after the first of the year.
Yes I love my Dr. F trio SE, using the Kuzma 4pt 11” Arm and blue cartridge. I consider the red, in the future for sure. I have the Vitus phono state and integrated amp and love them, so the MSB reference dac is just being used as a Dac. All flowing out from the focal Scalas.
I’m also considering adding the DD, I’ve spent time with a Premier dac and DD I can make a difference. The cascade is awesome, was able to hear a demo and spend time with Vince. Worth checking out!
Thanks for sharing! Just now seeing this setup, I think a switch for the headphone amp would be the best performance. Goldpoint makes one here we often recomend, it is the SW2X-O version :
The Reference DD is awesome, esp if you can find a used or refurbished. A great step up. But if the Cascade is a possibility, it is another realm of performance. This dilemma is quite common and discussed a lot on this forum so far. Let me know if you have any questions! And if you are looking for a refurbished unit, I can add you to our queue for when something comes up. Welcome to the forum!
