We always recommend keeping your DAC up-to-date with the latest firmware, but that being said, other than the Roon Ready Certification there was no other features or increases in stability added.

Could you please clarify the change with this firmware? I am using room since day one without any problems whatsoever. Also, my understanding is that the roon ready certification applies more to the renderer than to the dac. Am I wrong?
If you have a cascade, it shows up as a Select DAC in Roon. This fixes that is my understanding. At least that’s what happened with mine.

No there were absolutely no changes to the sound quality or stability of the Cascade. It simply changed how Roon identifies the Cascade.
