Just ordered a Premier + Digital Director from my dealer. I have had a Premier on demo in my system for a few weeks with the Pro ISL USB module and the Renderer v2. I could live with either one but saw recently the i2s module will work with my Antipodes. The choice of what modules I order was a bit overwhelming as there didn’t seem to be a bad choice.
After consulting with my Dealer, I ordered my Premier + DD with the I2S module as I see it will work well with my Antipodes Kala K50.
Have other Antipodes owners been able to compare the Pro ISL USB and New I2S modules with your system?
I have read some posts where it seemed the MSB experts were suggesting the Pro ISL USB module might be best overall…

I believe Daniel mentioned that DD is there to minimize the difference between modules. I’m owning Oladra and currently I’m settled with I2S as well. Not because it sounds “dramatically” better than pro-usb / renderers (I own both), but because it’s the easiest connection and glitch-free playback method (JPLAY) between Antipodes and MSB. With DD, the signal will be reclocked / buffered again in DD before transmitted to DAC so what module to use really depends on your server / playback choice. With renderer V2 I get random song skip with QOBUZ streaming so I ditched this module long ago. For Pro-USB I found the cables plus the adepter are somewhat clunky.
Sound wise I2S cable do have impact on sound signature, I used AQ firebird for a while but found Ricable SUPREME HDMI 2.0b MKII out-performs AQ in my system, the price is just a blessing as well.
Anyway, if your dealer have multiple modules for you to try, go for it and you might prefer one to another. If not, I believe you’d love I2S between Antipodes and MSB when DD is included.
Hopefully Antipodes “G5” update will include the direct pro-ISL connection to MSB. We’re all eagerly waiting
