Hello everyone,
I’m new to the forum.
I started with a Premier DAC and currently have a Select 2 + DD while I wait to upgrade to the Cascade.
I’m using an old Antipodes CX + EX combo as a server/streamer. I’m currently outputting via USB using ProUSB/ProISL to the Digital Director.
I’ve ordered an Antipodes Oladra G4 to replace the CX+EX.
I see on the Antipodes forum that some USB owners prefer the I2S output on the Oladra over the USB output.
MSB currently offers two I2S modules, one using an RJ45 connector and the other an HDMI connector.
So my question is, which is the best MSB I2S module for the Oladra?
Thanks for your comments
The Pro I2s Module (the one with the RJ45 Connector) is actually an MSB specific proprietary connection for our discontinued MSB Transports like the UMT and Reference/Select transports. The Correct module is the Universal I2s that features the HDMI connector. I will add a note to the input module pages to help clarify this.
Thanks Kevin for the confirmation.
I suppose the choice of HDMI cable is important.
Do you have one or two brands or models you would recommend?
We don’t have cable reccomendations (politics you see…) but other MSB users discussed this on the main Universal I2S Input module thread. Best of luck!
If you check the Antipodes forum, you’ll see that Mark Cole recommends the I2L HDMI connection. My personal experience concurs with that. Also, I found I2L to be superior to ProUSB.
