What a conversation piece it will be, no doubt about that. Looking forward for a listening session in the near future. Keep up the good spirit ; -)
I like to lit up MSB logo on the PSU.
Me too! Refining the illumination right now, but I think it looks absolutely stunning in person. I plan to use similar on future products. Very happy with how it turned out.
Hmmm, I think it is about time for an update on production. Will gather some pics and post later this week!
Also, updated weights for each unit were just measured. I designed as much weight savings as possible, but the powerbase still exceeded the 100 lb goal weight⌠its a very solid product.
The Sentinel Digital Director:
Dimensions: 17.5" (Wide) x 16.5" (Deep) x 4.3" (Tall)
Power: 24 watts
Weight: 46.5 lbs
The Sentinel Analog Converter:
Dimensions: 17.5" (Wide) x 16.5" (Deep) x 9.43" (Tall)
Weight: 91 lbs
The Sentinel Powerbase:
Dimensions: 17.5" (Wide) x 16.5" (Deep) x 9.43" (Tall)
Power Consumption: 225 watts
Weight: 117.5 lbs
Heat will be a major factor for these units. Please ensure to have 2" clearance on all sides of the Analog Converter and Powerbase, with about 3" clearance above the units. The cabinets either need cooling or at least open air ventilation. These units will not operate in a closed cabinet. Also note, the Sentinel DAC will not be stackable. Each unit will require its own platform.
a dac system over 250 pounds!
I know ![]()
Especially after working so hard to make the system more manageable. It is simply too many parts. I was hoping for each to be below 100lbs, that was my target. Alas! No compromising performance, so it is what it is.
The total power consumption of the Sentinel DAC⌠might there have been a double count?
Will it be 45 + 225 = 270 watts?
Hahaha, correct. The Powersupply and Analog Converter are the same unit âpower wiseâ. So that is repeated twice.
Hello Daniel, we are (All MSB fans of china) waiting for your update on Sentinel DAC.
A Sentinel Rack could be much appreciated by the few lucky owners of this audio gems! Something enough modular to fit different set ups. Go Daniel, go!
A Sentinel RAC to go with the Sentinel DAC - cool! ![]()
Canât imagine how wonderfully it would fit in your new room!
Including an optional Sentinel rack (in the exact same colour of the ordered units) would indeed be an interesting option, maybe a joint effort with HRS is an idea (as they are connoisseurs on chassis noise reductions). Probably Iâm now underestimating the capabilities of MSB here ![]()
Hi Daniel,
Happy Holidays to you, your family, and the MSB team! I was wondering whether there are any new pics for the promised update message from 10 days ago? Eagerly awaiting delivery of my Sentinel DAC sometime in mid-2026!
HI Arko,
Thank you for posting this. It was fascinating to get such a deep dive into Sentinel!
Dan
This video was amazing. Thank you.
very interesting and impressive
@akro , thanks for tracking this down and posting it! This clip is about an hour of discussion, where this reviewer has about 7+ hours of footage. I am sure more will be incoming as he edits and shares other details.
