What is the “Confluence Output”?

It is a new, Sentinel Only, Connector/cable topology to pair with the Sentinel Amplifiers. Standard interconnects were not up to the task, so we developed our own. It takes full advantage of all 32 Hybrid DAC Modules.

Wow, the parts look nothing short of breath taking.

Looking forward to hearing these puppies once they are out.

Nothing can stop me from missing it except money.

Beautiful !

From the front web page of the Sentinel I had thought that each bloc would have been composed of a mono PWS and a single Channel DAC. It looks like you have lodged the two mono DAC channels in a single aluminium chassis, and logically the second one would be purely a triple PWS. Right ? Any available picture of the PWS back panel ?

It seems the bloc pictured hereabove is in Silver polish finish ? Like my former Reference DAC. Am I right ?

Tell us moré about the new Connector/cable topology. En route for a new higher level component ?

In any case, the Sentinel will remain a dream for lots of us. I cannot imagine how it sounds in comparison to the Cascade which is already more than superlatively stunning.

The Sentinel power supply is a chassis containing 4 modules. The AC input and filtering section (which has 3 separate branches of power conditioning, they share a single AC input jack). The clock power module (two power transformers running five separate supplies). And two identical DAC power supply modules (one for the left DAC one for the right DAC) each with two custom transformers. Each module runs off its own independent AC power conditioning branch and has its own case.

The Sentinel DAC, which has 16 hybrid DAC modules per channel, has an ultra low native output impedance of 18.75 ohms. This is so low that it is unreasonable to transfer that signal over a single cable. The confluence connector allows the DACs hardware to split into two sections of 8 modules, which results in a much more reasonable differential impedance of 37.5 ohms. Future amplifiers supporting this system (will only work with the Sentinel) will have two input stages that sum the two differential 37.5 ohm inputs. The confluence connector also communicates with the DACs internal hardware and software to reconfigure it automatically.

I saw Jonathan at Tokyo International Audio Show on last Friday, so we took a short video regarding the Sentinel DAC. We added the subtitles in Korean, Japanese, Chinese (both traditional & simplified), Vietnamese, Thai & Indonesian. We hope you like it: https://youtube.com/shorts/8YkheqFXI-s

Really excited to see the Sentinel DAC making its way in the world

when will sales begin?

Sales have already started! We are accepting pre-orders now and shipping is estimated to begin in December 2025. Production of each unit will take an extended period of time, so even though we are starting in December orders will be filled very slowly.

We finally get to see a complete set of PCB’s and metal coming together for the Sentinel DAC. Refining code and making final adjustments as production has started. Still much to do, but we are celebrating what feels like a monumental milestone today!
