Yes the Magico’s deliver a fantastic base it’s rock solid, fast, musical and effortless. The Estelons in my opinion on their own (other than the Extreme) can’t compete with the solid foundation the Magico’s (and the Rockport Lyra, Tidal Akira but that is another topic) however on the soundstage and accuracy the Esteon’s are in a class of their own (none of the others came close in my mind) .
So first thing I would do is pair the amazing soundstage of the Forza with a pair or a stack of REL No. 31’s the larger driver in the 32 might be too slow. I run a pair of No 31’s with my X Diamonds and the result is a major improvement, I have the rock solid foundation and the amazing soundstage.
I could easily stop there BUT the Forza’s are simply better and the Extreme’s are MUCH better, they start challenging the Magicos low end but without giving up anything on the mid’s to highs, however I can’t make them work in my space, or rather I would have to be extremely careful everytime I carried anything up or down my stairs and in the long run I would be more than annoyed. So the Forza is a prefect solution (they are less sensitive to placement and smaller)
Now the twist to all of the above, my wife vetoed several really excellent options as she didn’t like the esthetics including the Magico’s as she has said on several occasions there shall not be any big black blobs, and thanks to Jamie at The Audio Experience I have a system that not only sounds amazing but looks fantastic, the custom painted RELs are perfect.
