@Dustin_Symanski, @Daniel_Francis I have to figure out where the Sentinel director will go and need advice, I realize none of these are ideal and based on your answers I might be able to add better options if you say Peter none of these are viable!
Side placement 5" away from a 100Amp panel or 3" from a currently unplugged freezer (but it might get plugged in in the future) , which puts it 2-3ft from the panel
Shelf placement, next to a Niagra 7000 or next to high speed network switches (mostly fiber but a lot of 10 and a couple 1G copper as well) or next to an Aurender N50.
I am assuming as far as possible away from WiFi devices, but what about a small 2KW UPS and battery, and how about a 20KW UPS with battery packs?
I have another other possible location which is far away from any electrical fields but 3ft away from the boiler and central air
Or alternatively next to a wine fridge, 3ft from the central air but 6 from the boiler (and easier to route the fiber cables to.
Sadly I realize I need to ask ASAP since the electrician is coming next week for something else but I can have him install a dedicated 20Amp at the same time, so I need to figure out where to locate it.
Your own drawing. On this you have space in the middle above the DAC/power. For me you should place the most beautiful part of the Sentinel not just anywhere, but in front of you, nearby the whole set. That’s how I see it, just an opinion however. I don’t know if there is enough space though.
Another thing to consider are the measurements of the Sentinel amp. Do they fit in your plans, perhaps they are higher/wider/deeper than the M500.
Good Evening, alas I would have wanted to have it all in the stand, but placing the director raises the base unit to 28.75" and the TV Center Line to 80"
as you can see the proportions are better and the base is lower, the tradeoff is the Director is in the basement, but it works really well the only question is the best placement given my constraints but I think I found a way to have it 8ft from the hvac in well vented area and 12ft away from the panel
And when you create a reduction in the base in the middle, also above the DAC/power, the director could be placed on top of the base (in fact as it should given the buttons and beautiful volume disc on top).
You could create the same space between all the components in the base and the top of the base. In the lower part of the base comes the director, which of course, sticks his head out of the base. Customization in all its glory!
@Gerard I am not following, to create the space in between I have to widen the until by 20" which sadly makes it 95.5" wide, the width is simply more than I have, the max width is 90 and that is not to exceed.
But yes I was hoping for having everything in one spot, but honestly this isn’t bad as the director and transport will be together and I can’t fit them upstairs so it’s all good.
Hi Peter, I don’t think you read my post right. The wide stays the same, I thought lowering the top of the base at the height of the DAC/power since they are lower as a product.
@Peter.Bomberg , I would recommend putting the director exactly where you would like to. Please don’t worry about the other influences and build it out in a way that works well for your space. The performance of the director will not be so easily influenced by your local appliances.
Glad you see possibilities. Personally I like the one with the oblique lines, which draws extra attention to the, I’ll say it again, the beautiful director. The other option offers even the opportunity to a extra device, which a believe makes it a little messy.
@matthewk it was never going anywhere near the basement (or anywhere near strong fields), it’s going to be near the amps but they are so well shielded I am not worried
@Gerard she asked me for a mockup but not the way you envisioned she wants a architectural feature but the electronics stay as a 4 component config, with the remaining 5 in the basement
Lucky for you it are all luxury problems. For me it stays a liitle bit weird to expose 4 bulky devices in a new setting (which looks nice btw), while the more “pretty” ones that matter for sure are hidden somewhere else.
