I had the Vitus SIA-030 integrated amplifier before i changed to the SM-103 MK.II. The SIA-030 was very good already, but i can’t bypass its preamp section when i wanted to use the passive preamp of the MSB Reference DAC to drive the power amplifier section directly. So i upgraded to the SM-103 MK.II which is Vitus Audio’s latest model launched in early 2023.
With the SM-103 MK.II monoblocks, there is a lot of improvement in base control and dynamics. They seems to have unlimited power driving the 88db sensitivity Marten speakers, eventhough there are only rated 100W rms into 8 ohms for the Class A or Class AB output options, probably due to their high current designs and massive power supplies. The bass is very powerful and controlled while the mids and highs are liquid sounding with excellent 3D imaging.
Now with the Cascade DAC, these monoblocks do not in any way limit the tremendous performance potential of the Cascade DAC.
Hi,
Yes, I am still using the Vitus SM-103 Mk.II monoblocks in the system. These monoblocks provide unlimited power, and in combination with the Cascade DAC/preamplifier gave a well balanced, natural and fatigue free sound.
You would have to listen to them for yourself before making your decision.
