Here are some of the first custom colored Cascade units coming through production.
The first black and bright gold unit through production. This one was ordered with a custom blue display.
@AaronD I didn’t get much time with the unit, but it’s certainly a stunning combination.
Thank you Kevin it’s certainly exceeded my expectations, can’t wait to get home from work and hook it up.
Congrats!
Wow! Pure refinement. This must be the most sofistcated dac, so far.
One of a kind!
Please share details on the Blue display!
Can you make the MSB logo on the M500 light up blue?
@Peter.Bomberg Making the display blue isn’t an issue. Personally, I love the look but would never do it. In a darker room, the blue is very hard on the eyes and can be harder to focus on.
Since our LEDs are white, we can make the display almost any color with a film-grade color filter. We’ve done blue, red, amber, a certain green color of someone’s dials, so there are options. They are all by request as the color film has to be ordered and cut.
The amp displays could be done, but it’s a bit harder. For this, we would have to cover just the white LEDs and leave the red alone. It’s possible; we’ve just not been asked for it before.
Hmmm, @Jonathan_Gullman the white on the amps is nice in the evening (at the lowest setting) the only one that is bright and annoying is the LED on the powerbase of the Cascade, and your comment has me thinking, maybe it’s not ideal on the amps, I wish I could see them visually to decide and I suspect I have to hurry as mine are being shipped soon I suspect.
The LED on the Cascade powerbase can also be reduced, is it still too bright at the lowest setting?
my apologies I thought the control was a switch, now that I realize it’s a wheel and I turned it down I suspect it’s dim enough (have to wait until it’s dark to verify)
ok tested last night and yes it’s much better but still brighter than the display on the M205’s so feature enhancement the range should be matched on the product line ![]()
Noted!
But @Daniel_Francis I will admit this is likely an issue that less than 0.01% of the users will notice and bother even fewer ![]()
Noted none the less. These are all decisions that we make as designers, and we won’t likely change it right off… but down the line it could be what makes the difference for that 0.01% of folks ![]()
Like on the Sentinel
Precisely, we are working on deciding its brightness at the moment. It is a highly debated decision, but will likely match the current amp fronts. The glowing logo just looks so good, we want it to be noticeable without glaring at you.
Actually the glowing logo has the perfect brightness range, the LED on the Cascade is a touch brighter and distracts as it protrudes. Personally I love the look of the logo at night it is a very understated but clear look here ![]()
