to those of you that connect the tv directly to the cascade, which cable do you use.
a cheap one or something better from brands like audioquest etc.
i’m trying to solve a problem with random restarts and maybe the cable is the problem.

I ordered an optical cable from Transparent audio, but heard no difference at all compared to the cheap one I got on Amazon. I decided to return it, and when I explained to Transparent why they replied that there really isn’t much to do to improve the sound quality on an optical connection. This makes sense as you’re really just talking about a light transmission through the fiber optic line. Whereas there’s debate about digital packet transmission via an electrical connection like SPDIF, USB or HDMI there’s not much that can be done to either degrade or improve the light transmission. But if it makes you feel better I’d suggest getting a higher end optical cable that you can return if you don’t notice an improvement.
