Cascade and Ayre dx-5 blue ray player sound question

I have a Cascade and an Ayre dx-5 (for movies). I have the Ayre connected to the Cascade 2 ways: aes/ebu and also hdmi A/V cable going to TV and sound coming back to Cascade from TV via Toslink. I noticed that the aes/ebu connection from Ayre to previous dacs was always the best sound by far but for some reason that is not the case when toggling back and forth between connections watching movies. The aes/ebu loses life, air, impact and transparency to the toslink coming back in via hdmi A/V. It does not make sense cause I know how how good it sounded previously, any advice? See pictures

I figured out why, some settings in the Ayre were not set properly. I read the owners manual and many settings like shutting off audio transmission on hdmi A/V and others they mention enhance audio quality, all of them taken together made a very improvement now it sounds best! Crazy how much impact various contributors to noise can have.
