I was wondering whether the idea of your putting an analog input on the Digital Director ever came up? That would make the incentive for purchasing one as an addition to my Premier DAC a no-brainer.
This has certainly crossed our minds, but would require digitizing the analog input. Doable, but would defeat the potential quality of the analog source making it more of a lifestyle upgrade and not the true performance we would expect from an MSB product. It would be good, but I am not sure it would find a home out there. We do get caught up in the extremes here, but curious to hear your use case and if that would be a deal breaker?
Hi Daniel, and thanks for your reply. I guess my thought was that, with an analog input, I wouldn’t need my preamplifier in the mix. Although, thinking further, my analog input would be for vinyl, and as things are now, my darTZeel has the built-in phono stage, so with that removed I would still need a phono stage before the analog input.
I guess I will wait for the announcement of the MSB phono stage release date before I consider this further.
Cheers,
David
