Streamer - options

  1. Preface: I want to remain with Audirvana if possible. Its configured for local FLAC storage tracks and Qobuz on a fanless PC (Windows/JCAT USB card with LPS) output to the ProUSB/ISL module into my MSB DAC. I like having an integrated search mechanism and presentation of local and QOBUZ choices on my iPAD (Audirvana app). I’m not interested in using ROON, as I think Audirvana is sonically better.

Q: Is it better to replace this PC with a network streamer appliance, which can support a local library (such as an SSD) and Qobuz (thru Qobuz connect), like a LUMIN. Other choices I am thinking of are LINUX on the PC with Audirvana, don’t know if its better than Windows. What’s your experience/suggestions, such as:

  1. Continue using Audirvana on LINUX to provide better SQ and more OS stability
  2. Swap out the ProUSB/ISL for the MSB Renderer module
  3. Replace streamer with appliance that can support local files and Qobuz with its own interface/app (like Lumin?)

Thx,

Ian

I think an Aurender model might fit your needs. I have no direct experience but folks I know love them. Depending on the model, I am sure you can have local files and of course, connect with Qobuz/Tidal. Their conductor app is supposed to be pretty good.
