@Jonathan_Gullman or @Daniel_Gullman
Hi both
I am looking for the volume level to set on my Reference DAC (and possibly on the Select II owned by a friend of mine). I asked the question some years ago by email to MSB and to the extent I can remember, I believe the answer was 98 to have a normalized output (2,83V/1m).
Is it correct ? Or was it for the Diamond DAC IV which I owned before ?
It seems that the Cascade DAC has now a setting to indicate that it is used as a pure DAC (volume at 100, Correct ?). But the previous generation to the Cascade does not seem to have this setting. And I wish to know if it is 98 on the Reference DAC or else.
Looking forward to your answer. Thanks.
Don’t bother answering. My question was stupid. I have just set the Start Volume to Off, which I guess is the normalized output value.
Hehe, now worries @Abascal. In all of our current DACs that use the 0-106 volume scale, the 100 setting is what passes the audio directly with no preamp. Turning the volume off does that same and helps clear up the display
