I sent back my Analog DAC for repair because of no power/no volume number display issue.
It was diagnosed a software loss & I was told everything’s fine after software reinstallation.
However, the volume control operation’s different after receiving the repaired unit.
Originally, it’s from -69db to +9db, bypass at 0db with power-up volume set to -30db.
Now, it’s from 31 to 109, bypass at 100 (click sound) with power-up volume set to 70.
Although it’s not a big problem, is there a way to change it back to normal?
THX!
@EddieK , correct. These numbers are still the same dB scale and all represent the same values. This update brought the volume scheme to match all other MSB products and functions consistently across them. Unfortunately to get the old value scheme, we would have to have old code in the unit which would likely compromise the performance. Sorry for the inconvenience and forcing you to learn a new set of values for your listening!
Got it!
Thanks for the explanation.
