Can Premier DD be turned off / put into standby with DAC remote controller? Or it can only be done by reaching the main switch near the IEC socket?

Remote controller is OK. If the DD and DAC are correctly connected using a 12V Trigger cable.
I have a Premier DAC, with a Premier Digital Director.
There is no 12v trigger port on the Premier version of the Digital Director. There is only the rear power switch.
I contacted MSB (pre forum) about power on and off, and was instructed to just leave the device on. (When I leave town for any appreciable time, I power off the power conditioner)
That being said, there are errors in the Premier Digital Director Manual on the website.
one of the drawings, of the back of the unit clearly shows two 12v trigger ports.
and correct me if I mis-understood, but the Premier Digital Director sports an SMPS power supply, not linear, as stated in the manual.

Sounds like you have a solution for this. The power consumption is otherwise quite low and the unit enters standby when the DAC is shut off. But if you want it to be completely shutdown, doing it with the power conditioner is a great idea.
I leave mine powered up all the time. As far as I know, you need at least 4 hours or more to get optimised sound from the DAC. It sounded pretty bad upon a cold power start-up.

Yes indeed, sound isn’t impressive at the initial few hours. My Discrete used to take about 7 hours to get fully ready for making great sound. Recently, less time is required but 5-6 hours are still needed.
However, I cannot leave the DAC powered on always. My environment is staying over 28C without air conditioning. I have to make the DAC standby whenever I turn off air conditioner.
Once before, I did leave the DAC powered on over night, and found that it got really really hot. (I started feeling pain upon placing my hand on it for 3 seconds, and I doubt if I could do it for over 10 seconds)
My room stays at 31 C when the aircon is off. The highest temperature is at the Powerbase at 40.5 C.

At 40C, did you feel pain when touching the chassis?
If you didn’t feel any pain, that might mean that my Discrete was actually much hotter than your Premier. (But why……?)
How is the air flow and clearances around the system? I had my Premier in a closed cabinet, but my home is only 22 C so it remained quite happy.
It was in a cabinet without doors. (Or I should considered it a “cave”)
It got about 3 inches of clearance on left and right; about 6 inches behind and above.
It was placed on the floor so there is nothing beneath it, except a wooden plate.
That looks great! There is plenty of clearance for these units. This should be an ideal setup.
So, the question becomes the delta between ambient and the unit itself. Is your house regularly this hot? Or is it when you leave and turn off the AC?
My DAC is in my living room. With air conditioning (around 25c), the powerbase’s chassis stays around 36c when operating.
I turn off air conditioner of my living room before bed every night, and the temperature usually goes up and stays around 28-30c until dawn. (When I tried to leave it powered on overnight, I turned off the air conditioner. And I found it very hot in the next morning)
At dawn, sunshine hit my living room directly, and temperature usually goes up to around 34c (before I wake up and turn on the air conditioner).

This is a bit spicy! Turning it off when the temperature is this high is for the best. We have recommended temps in the manuals, those are ideal but we understand not everyone will be able to follow them.

In my case, should I just let the DD go into Standby mode together with the DAC? Or I should completely cut DD’s power?
The DD is VERY low power, it can stay on without issue I am sure.
