Network Renderer Questions

Hello!

I’m considering buying an MSB DAC that includes the Network module, but I’ve found there’s scant technical information available on what this module can do. At the moment, I’m streaming music from my local network using a Raspberry Pi with Open Home, and also from Qobuz. Could anyone who has this network module explain if it’s possible to view the module’s specifics within BubbleUPnP by navigating to renderer > three dots > info?

Hi Ender,

I believe the following link has all the info you need:

it supports uPnP so all you need is this module and a UPnP remote like mconnect or the bubble you’re using and you’re good to go.

Thanks but the information is lacking any technical specs. This is important to me as I want to use OpenHome natively if possible or use BubbleUPnP server to support this. Hopefully some with BubbleUPnP can provide some details. Thanks again.

I haven’t used BubbleUPnP, perhaps @Jonathan_Gullman may have some input. I do not see any issue or conflict that would cause it not to work.

Thanks! Never though about it. Most of the time dealers have no clue about these things. I will find out as MSB have a dealer in Ontario.

I know that the Renderer V3 will utilize my MinimServer upnp server / JPlay, so it’s not totally locked into Roon.

I can try loading the Bubble software on my PC, and see if it can identify the Renderer.

BubbleUPnP user here. Running MinimServer on my Synology NAS.

It’s been working fine for 2 years.

I haven’t used UPNP/OpenHome in many years (since Roon appeared actually), but I do remember it worked fine. We also used MinimServer.

JPlay being UPNP compatible would be a good control app, but of course, there are many others. I remember liking the Linn app at the time…

Can you please do the following:

  1. Open BubbleUPnP
  2. Under devices, find the MSB DAC and click on the three dots
  3. Click on “Info”
  4. Please take a screenshot and paste it here
