My humble living room system

Hi,

I started my audio life from 30 years ago and still I am enjoying listeniing to music everyday.

My living room system is all digital now;

  1. Source; Aurender N20
  2. Dac/pre; MSB Discrete with 2 power supplies
  3. Amp; Electrocompaniet AW400 monoblocks
  4. Speaker; YG Sonja 2.2i

It sounds so wonderful that I cannot imagine how it would sound with Premier/Cascade upgrade.
By the way, would the msb renderer module sound better than Aurender N20?
Your opinions will be greatly appreciated

Hi, Dan

Thks for the comment.
If possible, I will be happy to make the system simpler by adding msb’s render module and remove Aurender n20.

Do you think moving up to Premier w/render module beat the current current discrete+Aurender combo?

I would consider the MSB Technology Premier Digital Director with Renderer V2 input module as a replacement for your Aurender. You would also require a computer running Roon Core software on your home network in this scenario. The advantage, besides exceptional noise isolation for digital sources, is vastly more DSP power for the latest MSB digital filters.

I appreciate your comments.
As I am running two Autender-based sysyems with two different wifi networks, do I have to purchase two roon memberships if converting to two systems to roon?

If your other Aurender can act as a Roon endpoint, then a single instance of Roon Core (with the one Roon account) on your home network can stream to multiple zones, including the MSB Network Renderer V2 module.

I will check with Autender if it can act as a roon endpoint. I appreciate your comment^^

Wonderful setup! What connection are you currently using for the Aurender? XLR or Pro USB?

I am currently using AES/EBU connection ^^

Got it. I think the most interesting upgrade for you would be to use the Pro USB with your Aurender. You can move the Aurender elsewhere in the house and connect it with any length fiber cable. This would yield a sonic improvement and give you placement options. This would be the most cost effective upgrade IMO.

Otherwise, if you are ready to take the leap, the Renderer + Premier upgrade would be a bigger upgrade by far. And of course, the DD for the premier would take things even further.
