Grounding error on Cascade startup

Whenever I start up my Cascade I see this “grounding error” flash then go away. What does it mean? I do have my Cascade and s500 tied together with grounding cable, please advise

If this is only happening at startup don’t worry about it at all. Your DAC is just starting its analog circuitry a little slower than average on startup. Below is my attempt to explain why you are seeing the message.

There is a circuit that measures the DACs internal ground potential. It is important that it is charged to the correct potential before connecting the outputs on powerup. This is an analog process that takes different amounts of time for every DAC and is also dependent on ambient conditions such as temperature. The DAC software has a startup timer that ignores this fault for a fixed amount of time so as not to annoy the user. It appears like your DAC is charging at the upper end of the distribution so that the timer is not quite long enough to blank out the warning message. I will ask to have this timer increased on the next code update so you won’t see this anymore. Jonathan likes DACs code to start up ASAP and sometimes the analog hardware just does not cooperate in every situation.
