When I noticed you were on the show, at first, I was surprised since at the beginning in late 2025 and early 2026, with the original recurring guest line-up, the show had a tendency to favor “loud” entertainment over audiophile-relevant information. But this issue was very fact-based.
And there were a few learning nuggets I discovered, e.g. the fact that when Roon streams RAAT to a group, one renderer will take priority (clock-wise) over the other, leading to the second renderer not being streamed the same bitstream to. I did not know that.

That was my first podcast experience, so thanks for the positive feedback! I think we may have come across a bit harsh on sources segment, but it was intended for new audiophiles. For folks creating an ultimate system, I think they should have at any streamer/server they want!
I don’t think your comments came across as harsh. Jonathon and you were matter of fact and clear. I think you both came across as technology leaders in a HiFi/DAC industry.
Loved the discussion especially about streamers. Totally agree that you should buy these for the software interface rather than expectations for improved SQ. The DAC is clearly the most important priority.
