Feature Request: Squeezelite Support for Network Renderer V2

Hello,

I would like to suggest to add support for Squeezelite to the renderer.

It is opensource and written in C:

Squeezelite is used together with Lyrion Music Server / Daphile (which is also uses LMS).

Daphile is used by many audiophiles (including me) and adding support for Squeezelite player to the renderer would make your DAC the ulimate combination.

It also perfectly supports gapless playback.

Meanwhile, you do know you can use the upnp bridge plugin available at lyrion, right? Upnp is a bit sketchy, but it will work.

Yes, I know. I’m still waiting for the Palisade DAC, so I can’t test.

However, based on the experience from other DACs supporting UPnP/DLNA and Squeezelite, it seems that Squeezelite works flawlessly, while UPnP/DLNA sometimes has issues with gapless playback.

Therefore, I would like to have native Squeezelite support.

I had a squeezelite endpoint. It is not as beautiful as people normally says. Lots of hiccups in the experience. Later down the road, I even preferred using the bridge.

But if you are into lms, give it a try to JPLAY. It is rock solid in upnp. And if I am not mistaken, it will even use the lms as a server to your local files. The investment is pretty low, even for a lifetime subscription

I still prefer Daphile
