I understand that the Cascade has two RCAs for TTs. I was wondering about the Cascades compatibility with a TechDAS AF One? Are there any limitations I need to beware of?
Note I already have an excellent phono stage, but if the Cascade can save me two shelves … the TT has two arms with two carts # an Airtight Opus 1 and MSL Platinum Signature.
You still need to use your analog phono preamp with the Cascade. The Cascade can accommodate up to 4 analog sources, two of them on RCA and two on XLR. The Cascade does not have an internal phono preamp.
What you can do is remove the Vitus preamp from your system and route the signal from your Vitus phono preamp through the “preamp” section of the Cascade. That will be a significant step up in transparency, bringing you closer to what’s on your records.
If you haven’t already done so, I strongly recommend having your SME tonearms rewired to remove the multiple junctions.
