I am going to connect my Innuous Statement server to my new Cascade DAC using the Roon Renderer module. I would also like to be able to connect to the Statement with the ProISL interface to be able to use the Innuos data base manager (not bad). Is it true that any server (in my case the Statement) that has a USB Type A output can be connected to the Cascade with a Type A male to Type B male USB cable to the USB/Optical interface gizmo and then from there into the Cascade via Fiber? If not, why?
Yes. Than you Luca. I am aware of the extra MSB hardware required and have that on order. My question relates to the Statement server. Does it require any special firmware to connect to the MSB DAC using the ProUSB adaptor and ProISL module?
My first exposure to the Innuous Sense app was very positive.
No Eric, the Innuos works as it is. No firmware needed. You plug the USB cable in, easy peazy! The Innuos server immediately “sees” the MSB DAC.
Through the Innuos App you only need to set the Statement as only server, only streamer or both of them (my suggestion). Then, depending on your preferences, if using Roon or SenseOs on it.
It means that in that way you don’t need the Renderer at all.
I’m using the Pro USB fiber to attach from a Roon Nucleus USB out to the Cascade and it is working perfectly. I can stream DSD512 with no problem at all.
