My Humble System

First-time MSB user. Very much entry-level compared with people here. But I really like how it sounds! I cannot believe this is an “entry-level” MSB DAC and I am really curious how more advanced ones sound. For now, I am immensely satisfied. The Accuphase Class A amplifier is a great pair with MSB Discrete DAC. Altogether they created tremendous sound with great authority, micro dynamics and transparency. I run the Discrete as low output to fully utilize Accuphase’s volume control.

Core Components

(1) Wilson Sabrina X Loudspeakers

(2) Accuphase E-800 Class A Integrated Amplifier

(3) MSB Discrete DAC (with Dual PSU, Renderer V2, and Pro I2S)

Sources

(1) Streaming: Renderer V2

(2) Disc playback: PS Audio PerfectWave SACD Transport

(3) Vinyl: Technica SL-1200G + Audio Technica ART9XI Dual MC Phono Cartridge + Accuphase AD-60 Phono Board (inserted into Accuphase E-800)

Power

(1) AudioQuest Niagara 3000 Power Conditioner

(2) Shunyata Alpha V2 NR Power Cord (x2, one for Accuphase E-800 one for analog PSU)

(3) Shunyata Delta V2 NR Power Cord (x2, one for digital PSU one for SACD Transport)

(4) AudioQuest Blizzard Power Cord (wall to Niagara 3000)

(5) Revelation Audio Umbilical Cord (PSUs to DAC)

Cables

(1) Cardas Clear XLR Interconnect

(2) Cardas Clear Speaker Cable

(3) Nordost Blue Heaven Tonearm Cable +

(4) Revelation Audio Prophecy I2S Cable

(5) Commercial-grade CAT6 unshielded ethernet cable

  • I tested multiple solutions and I think a simple CAT6 cable is the best…

Very nice system! I certainly wouldn’t consider it “entry level.”

What a great set of components. I bet it sounds wonderful in your listening space. You would be surprised how little difference in SQ there is from your system and ones costing much more. I have a second system with Magico A-5’s that I could easily live with as my main system (Alexx V). Yes there are differences but not as much as you would imagine.

Beautiful, non-entry level system. Enjoy.

Do you have your TV hooked to the Discrete via TOSLink?

@Bones13 Yes I did! That makes it totally different TV experience hahaha. I also filled my NAS with movies so that I can use the system as home theater.

@skinzy Thanks! Yeah I think the current setting is near the best I can hope for for my small listening space in an NYC apartment (12’ x 16’ living room). The Sabrina X speakers is especially well suited for such small space.

Nice system it is like a dream

Those Sabrina’s are stunning in that fit and finish  This system curation speaks to my aesthetics. I imagine it sounds as good as it looks. Welcome to the MSB Family!
