Ah, this is unique to wireless. My Apple TV is HDMI connected to my TV, which is TOSLink connected to my DAC. Thanks for the info though.
I have used YouTube via the AppleTV. Music is fine, best to leave “ video” mode off for the music, unless the lip sync issue is too bad for your sensibilities. Music better slaved to the MSC clock.
I would assume similar to a setup using PC to stream YouTube to the TV, and HDMI, or TOSLink, to the DAC in some fashion.
Again I ask, is the latency with video mode turned off constant or variable? If it varies, I won’t waist my time looking for a lipsync delay solution.

Sorry, I think there is some confusion with the question.
When in “video mode” the latency is constant.
When in normal playback mode and using S/PDIF the latency is variable. Its a dynamic buffer and it depends on if the incoming clock is faster/slower than the clock in the DAC.
