Dual Discrete Power Supplies vs Single Premier Power Supply

I’m posting this more out of curiosity than anything else…
Wondering about the sonic improvement of the Premier Power Supply over dual Discrete units, along with “why” of said improvements.

The Premier Power Base has automatic voltage switching and protection, remote power on, custom wound low noise shielded transformers, magnetic shielding, better chassis, and higher quality discrete ultra-low noise linear regulators. The first two features are purely convenience but everything else contributes to performance. The electrostatic and magnetic shielding results in much less noise coupling from the power mains. The lower vibration and lower noise discrete regulators keep the noise on the DAC power supplies lower. Noise coupling between the digital and analog supplies is less as well. This results in the Premier Power Base as a solid upgrade from the dual discrete power supplies.

Thanks Dustin…great explanation!

Please share your thoughts on any sonic changes if you do make the move to the power base.
Thankyou

Hello Dustin and thank you for a interesting answer. I have the old Premier with dual discrete power supplies and I wonder if there is, despite your answer, any advantages with that? I think foremost about the opportunity to have a rather long distance between the dac and the power supplies.

Separation of any power base from the DAC does help with magnetic interference (this includes other components as well). A couple of inches separation of chassis (vertical or horizontal) is enough to make magnetic coupling unmeasurable. The Premier Power Base is better than dual supplies, reasons are given in my previous post as to why.
