Yes I keep the boxes in the garage. These are essential if you ever decide to sell or trade the equipment.
Yes, always keep equipment boxes. They are the only boxes shippers will guarantee safe shipping in. If you end up trading in equipment you can end up losing money without original boxes. I once didn’t keep some boxes for some speakers I traded in for new equipment… the replacement boxes cost $1000 and took months to get.

Sadly you have to keep them for higher cost equipment.
I’m actually renting a storage unit to keep them in as I simply don’t have room in the house. Ok the flight cases for my speakers are very large and I have many speakers in the house so …
But to Dan’s point for high end gear it is a must
They also come in handy if you move, which I did a couple of years ago. I used to keep all the boxes in a rented storage unit, with all the other stuff. New house has a dry crawl space. I wrapped all empty boxes in plastic, and stored them down there.
New speakers due in a month or 2, I’ll drag out the big boxes for the existing speakers, as they will be the deciding factor for some potential buyers.
We stock boxes for almost all products we have ever made. A lot of our clients don’t hang onto them so we provide replacements for a small fee, but they are never matched as perfectly as the original set.
If anyone is ever selling an MSB product and needs boxes to ship, please reach out. We prefer safe packaging even in the second hand market.
I am personally the type of person who doesn’t hang onto equipment boxes… don’t judge me ![]()
Keeping the boxes is kinda mandatory. If I buy stuff and the original packaging is missing, that’s a big bummer.
