As we get closer to releasing the Sentinel DAC, we have been working on new finishes that will be up to the caliber and presentation befitting the new flagship. Our Distributor in Hong Kong placed a special production order for Champagne finished products. Usually, the accents are simply gold plated.. but the gold is soft, scratchable, and will wear quickly when used.
So, this time we turned to higher tech options. Our new accent finish (that will be available with black and silver units) is Titanium Nitride PVD. Physical Vapor Deposition is used to deposit an ultra rugged/durable gold finish of Titanium Nitride evenly across the surface of the stainless steel accents. This is the same finish being used on our CNC endmills for machining the chassis themselves. The result is a stunning and incredibly durable finish that looks and feels the part of gold and will stay pristine for years to come.
