I switched to the AQ Dragon for the interconnects and found a noticeable improvement ---

Most amps will not care if the mains voltage overvoltages and damages them. We ship amps all over the world with sometimes outrageous electrical grid conditions and we were getting many blown up amps. So I designed the S500 to have many ways to protect itself. First it automatically senses mains voltage and selects the correct range(105-130V or 210-260V). Next it senses the mains voltage and disconnects if the mains is out of spec. Then if the mains is out of spec for too long, or too many times in a short period of time, it turns off. As a further backup all internal power rails are monitored and will turn off the amp before the caps overvoltage, this is a slow way to sense a fault however so it’s only used as a last resort. I personally love it because it has saved the amps in our listening room many times while I was using them. In California here we get many electrical grid events that blow up equipment and the amps simply shut off without any damage. Some customers have even gotten their utilities to fix major errors (and pay for blown up equipment) in their local grid after our amps kept shutting down prompting them to monitor their mains power. ---

Yes, S202, M205, S500 and M500 all share the same protection circuitry. ---

It’s very likely that the Stromtank is not nice to the the power when it is switching and is putting a huge spike on it, possibly aggravated by wiring in your house and the amp is seeing that and saying “hey I should protect myself”, but the fault was not long enough (probably just a single spike) for the amp to turn off completely. Without monitoring your power directly this is not conclusive but is highly likely (90%+). ---

When you start the Stromtank up it have to be on the grid and then you can go over to the battery mode- Best Henrik ---

I did meet the dream team in Munchen and spend some time whit them it was so great to have time for a longer time about the MSB produkts. MSB room was a joy like all ways and they use time to get good sound all ways. So i end up ordre a S500 before the show was over so now i just have to sit down and relax before my dream will land here. Thx to @Daniel_Francis and @Jonathan_Gullman for who they are. ---
