I’d like to suggest a feature for the Renderer: automatic wake-up when playback is initiated through a streaming service.
For example, if the MSB DAC is in standby and I open the Qobuz app, select the MSB Renderer via Qobuz Connect, and start playing music, it would be very convenient if the Renderer could automatically wake the DAC from standby and begin playback.
This would make everyday streaming much more seamless, especially with services such as Qobuz Connect where the user can control everything directly from the native app.
Similarly, I currently have an iPad Pro connected to the Pro USB input for Spotify playback. It would be even better if starting Spotify playback from the iPad could wake the MSB DAC in the same way and automatically switch the input to Pro USB.
I’m not sure whether this is technically possible with the current Renderer/DAC architecture, but if it could be implemented through a future update, I think it would be a very useful quality-of-life feature.
Thanks for considering it.
This is technically not possible. When the DAC is off, it’s off, and the renderer has zero power. It can’t turn on the powerbase.

Hello Jonathan, if the DAC is standby, not turn off, the wake up through the Roon is possible?
I remember using it that way before, and it worked.
I would like to see something related but different, however I suspect it’s a Connect issue not a renderer.
I would like to be able to pause and resume, it works like a charm if you resume within min but if it’s longer (I have not measured how much longer) you have to open the app and start the stream all over.
I suspect hower this is the Qobuz Connect app that is the issue.
If the DAC is powered on, it should always work through Roon and just start playing.
@Peter.Bomberg This sounds like a connect issue. As you know, the app on your phone is more of a remote than anything else for Qobuz.
@Jonathan_Gullman and indeed it does work well through Roon, the issue is Qobuz Connect and I verified it’s the same on my current office streamer (NAD M33), I will test on the Weiss Helios (temporary upgrade, until the Palisade or Cascade take over and the Helios goes to the bedroom) next week as I am installing the new office setup on Sat.
However I do have a question which likely should go to AudibleDNA. I love the ability to see and controll the volume of the DAC on the phone, the slider in connect doesn’t show the current volume, is this something MSB can expose or is there a possability to get a mini player version of http://audibledna-hlk2829b.local/audio (I bookmarked it and really like it)
I would love for the volume to be displayed as well, but I’m pretty sure that’s a limitation of the phone app. The desktop app doesn’t even give you +/- buttons or a number…
For the mini-player, the best thing is to do exactly what you did. You can even make it a home page shortcut. It will look and act exactly like an app. The instructions to do this are here:
@Jonathan_Gullman it wont let me create an app on Android but it happily added as a shortcut to my desktop, thank you for the suggestion. Way better than what I was doing.
