Analog DAC input selection

Let me start with saying, there are bigger problems in the world.

But when I set the input of the Analog DAC to Auto then I understand it will switch by itself, also depending on the order of the modules.

But if I set it to Toslink to watch some TV and then at some point I switch on the Melco why does it then still switch to USB? In my opinion it should just stick to the selected input.

If the Toslink is manually selected, it should stay on the toslink unless it’s the Renderer input. The Renderer is the only input that will override the input selection.

If it’s on Auto:Toslink it will always switch to the higher priority input.

Are you sure the Toslink is manually selected or is it auto selected after a power on cycle?

If you want, please message me or email me a video of it happening.

Looking at it in detail, then it looks like that after a power on cycle, it always goes to Auto? That would explain it. I manually select in, for example, in the evening. Switch off the dac, the next morning I’ll watch the morning news it is again on Toslink input, but now because of the auto swtich not of me acutally selecting it?

I believe that to be correct. It works that way for me.

The analog DAC will reset all settings after shutting down, including the volume. It’s designed this way and doesn’t have any configuration registers.
